We chose this piece for our hallway to do double duty: it will hold book bags as the kids come home from school, and also their shoes.
It is a very warm design that would look good both contemporary and traditional. Good size for a small space, but the storage compartment is more than ample. The only con is one of the dowels was missing but the included screws made up for it. Directions were clear and my husband put it together in about 45 minutes.

I ordered 2 of these benches for use as corner dining benches with storage capability. I have so far assembled the first one, and I've been very impressed with the quality of the construction, the simplicity of the instructions, and the overall look of the bench. If I did have one con, it would be that the cushion that comes with the bench is pretty weak - but I was never planning on using it anyway - I'm planning to get/make thick foam cushions which will better complement my decor. I will buy from Hayneedle again and again, especially if this is any indication of the quality of the products I will receive!
