It looks nice from a distance. However, once you get up close, you notice all the small defects and scratches in the wood and finish. One of the magnets that holds the door closed was installed in the wrong place by the manufacturer, so we had to fix that ourselves so that the door would stay closed. Although the hinges are aligned well enough to allow the doors to close smoothly, they are not aligned with one another, creating an asymmetrical appearance. I am a short woman, so the bench seems a bit high for my liking, but my husband is satisfied with the height. The color is more of a dark brown/walnut, rather than a true espresso. Even with all of our complaints, we will be keeping this unit because it seems like too much of a hassle to send it back after spending almost 2 hours between the two of us assembling it. Also, it was one of the only benches that was 36" long with a decent amount of storage space. Since we are using it as a shoe rack in our hallway, it should do the trick.
